AFGE says military veteran and former Ohio state representative understands value of public service and importance of federal workers
INDIANAPOLIS –– The American Federation of Government Employees today announced its endorsement of Adam Miller for election to the U.S. House representing Ohio’s 15th Congressional District in the 2026 elections. The statewide primary is May 5, and the general election is Nov. 3.
A Columbus native, Miller is a retired colonel in the U.S. Army with 29 years of military service, including two combat tours of duty in Afghanistan, and was recently appointed to lead the Ohio Democratic Party Veteran Caucus. As an Ohio state representative, Miller championed special education funding and the repeal of Ohio’s death penalty. He also co-founded the first statewide free legal assistance service for veterans.
“AFGE will not have a better friend in Congress when Adam Miller is elected,” AFGE District 6 National Vice President Arnold Scott said. “Adam Miller has worked with our members in his role as an Army colonel, and he understands the tremendous sacrifices federal workers make to serve the public.”
Miller has joined AFGE members at rallies supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Social Security Administration and has met with members from various agencies to understand the challenges they face.
About 56,000 federal employees live in Ohio – caring for veterans, supporting the military, and getting Social Security recipients their benefits accurately and on time.
AFGE is the largest federal employee union in the country, representing more than 820,000 federal and D.C. government workers in all functions of government. AFGE represents about 46,800 federal employees in District 6, which includes Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio.
